Coco Loco E. coli Outbreak in College Station, TX

At least 10 people are part of an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak in Brazos County, Texas that is being investigated by public health officials.  The source of the E. coli outbreak, which began during the first week of May, 2013, has been identified as ground beef served at the Coco Loco location in the 300 block of George Bush Drive in College Station, Texas.

According to news reports, 2 young brothers, ages 18 months and 4, were hospitalized with hemolytic uremic syndrome, a complication of E. coli infection that can lead to kidney failure.  Both returned home in late May, after weeks in the hospital.
