Northwest Fruit and Produce Romaine Lettuce E. coli Outbreak

In May, 2008 ten people were infected with E. coli O157:H7 in Pierce and Thurston counties of Washington State.  The outbreak was traced to bagged, commercial romaine lettuce, which was only sold to food service outlets (not grocery stores).  All of the victims were infected after eating at restaurants and cafeterias, including those at Pacific Lutheran University in Parkland, Washington.  For more information visit the Marler Clark case news story on this outbreak.
